Basic Tactical Medicine
Now known as “Tactical Medical Operations” the basic tactical medicine course is designed to provide all interested emergency responders with the tools necessary to operate in a tactical environment. This course is designed as our entry level course for all medical operators, and is also designed for law enforcement personnel to be grounded in the basics of tactical medicine, regardless of their level of medical experience.
Core Competencies:
Hemorrhage Control Airway Management Management of Penetrating Trauma Casualty Evacuation and Triage Toxicology. Drugs of Abuse Excited Delirium Preventive Medicine Medical Intelligence Pain Control Team Movements Ballistics/Explosives injuries. Gear Considerations Sports Medicine Morning didactic sessions are complimented by afternoon hands-on and scenario based training experiences.
Total Course Length:
3 Days (24 hours). Classes run 8 AM – 5 PM daily.
This course provides equivalent training to “EMT-Tactical” programs.
In the past 8 years responders from over 200 local, regional, and federal agencies have taken the Basic course!
PA DOH Course #: 004253 / 14 CME Credits for all levels of EMS provider

Certification:
All participants receive a certificate of completion, and a letter from our medical director that verifies the skills and competencies achieved. We are currently working closely with the Board for Critical Care Transport Certification, and can direct interested providers through their certification exam process.
Prerequisites:
Open to all law enforcement officers, military personnel, basic and advanced EMS providers, medical personnel (physicians, nurses, and physician extenders), and security personnel.
